Torrenueva

Torrenueva is a newer residential development area sitting between the city centre of La Línea and the resort zone of Alcaidesa. It shares some characteristics with both — more modern and spacious than the traditional city barrios, but more affordable than Alcaidesa. It has grown significantly in the 2000s and 2010s, and much of the housing stock is comparatively recent, built to a higher standard than the older parts of La Línea.

The area benefits from proximity to the coast without being on the most expensive beachfront strips. Some developments have sea views or easy beach access, while remaining within a manageable distance of the town centre. The character is modern Spanish residential — apartment blocks with lifts, parking, and some communal facilities — rather than the resort-style of Alcaidesa.

For families or couples who want newer-build accommodation at prices below Alcaidesa, Torrenueva offers a reasonable middle ground. It is not cheap, but it delivers quality of product for the money, and the transport links to both the city and the border are acceptable.
