Life here revolves around the pedestrianised streets, traditional tapas bars, and independent shops that line Calle Real and the surrounding plazas. Everything you need — from the pharmacy to the post office to the weekly market — is within a ten-minute walk.

The Gibraltar border crossing at La Verja is roughly a kilometre from the heart of Centro, which makes this the default choice for cross-border workers. You can walk or cycle to the border in under fifteen minutes, avoiding the queues of cars that back up on the approach roads. In practice, many residents go back and forth to Gibraltar several times a week with ease.

Apartments in Centro tend to be older-build, often in converted townhouses or traditional Spanish blocks, with high ceilings and shuttered balconies. The neighbourhood trades space for location — you won't find the largest flats here, but you'll pay less than in Gibraltar for a genuinely central address with cafes, the market, and the sea just minutes away.
